Lurcher Holiday Chalet is at the extreme southern-end of Cleethorpes beach. ‘Fitties’ is the old Lincolnshire word for Salt Marshes. Originally, in the 1900s, it was a part of the beach where townies, mainly from Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire came and put up their tents, erected huts, brought disused railway carriages and buses to spend time enjoying the fresh-air — no amenities!
Nowadays, the above have disappeared and a community of chalet owners have taken over. The chalets are nearly all of timber construction, with a few brick ones which were built before the council laid-down rules and regulations.
Chalet 195 is in an enviable position; only a few yards across a green to the beach and with no roads to cross, it is also a short walk from a grocery shop and is away from the roadways. In addition to the comfortable location, we have erected a high fence and gate extensions so that our Lurchers are safe and turned an inner room into their domain, but we let them sleep where they like!
We hope you will enjoy it as we do.
